War Service: 1861 Maj. in 3rd Bn of Arkansas Infantry, Col. of 21st Arkansas, Wilson's Creek, Elkhorn Tavern, November 1862 Brig. Gen., criticized by Gen. Holmes for his troops' lack of discipline, Helena AR, served under Price in Red River campaign, resigned commission in 1864.
