War Service: 1861 Capt. of infantry, Lt. Col. of 40th Virginia, June 1862 Col., Seven Days, Gaines' Mill (w), in charge of a convalescent camp, July 1863 Brig. Gen., commanded Walker's Bde/Heth's Divn at Bristoe Station, Mine Run campaign, Wilderness, Spotsylvania (w), served on courts-martial, guarded the Richmond and Danville Railroad.

Post War: Investment broker.
