Gen. (never confirmed by the Confederate senate), commanded
2nd Bde/Jackson's Divn at Gaines' Mill, Malvern Hill (w),
Harper's Ferry, Sharpsburg (w), commanded 2nd
Bde/Trimble's Divn at Chancellorsville - left the field
because of an ulcerated leg, relieved of duty, cashiered for
cowardice, captured at Smithburg TN, imprisoned for
the rest of the war.
