War Service: 1861 Maj. in 4th Bn Texas Cavalry, Col. of 27th Texas (Whitfield's Texas Legion), Elkhorn Tavern, Iuka (w), attached to Van Dorn's command, May 1863 Brig. Gen., Johnston's Vicksburg campaign, commanded a brigade under W H Jackson in Mississippi, no known command at war's end.
