War Service: 1861 1st Lt. and adc of 3rd Georgia, Capt. and staff officer to Gen. A R Wright at Seven Days, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, 1864 transferred to Gen. W Mahone's staff, organized counterattack at the Crater, July 30 promoted from Capt. to Brig. Gen.

Post War: Killed while resisting a Federal assault on the Darbytown Road.
