Gen. of Volunteers, Atlanta campaign, commanded 2nd Bde/1st Divn/XV Corps in March to the Sea (w), led 1st Division/XIV Corps for Grand Review in Washington

Post War: Prison warden, Army service (briefly), collector of internal revenue, mayor of Columbus OH.
