Bluffs, commanded 1st Divn/XV Corps at Arkansas Post, November 1862
promoted Maj. Gen. of Volunteers, Vicksburg campaign, commanded Union
forces in Arkansas, supported the Red River campaign, commanded a
division in Mobile campaign.
Post War: Army service, commanded Department of Columbia.
