Carolina, commanded 1st Bde/2nd Divn/XVIII Corps at Cold Harbor (w),
commanded 1st Divn/XVIII Corps at Petersburg (w), Ft Harrison (w),
served in Vermont.
Post War: Army service with the Freedmen's Bureau, resigned
1867, collector of customs, and doorkeeper of the House of Representatives
