advance on Corinth, commanded the Dist. of Memphis, commanded 4th
Divn/XVI Corps in Atlanta campaign, commanded minor posts in the South,
commanded 1st Divn/XIII Corps in Mobile campaign.
Post War: Lawyer, state adjutant general, collector of
internal revenue.
