Chantilly, October 1862 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers, commanded 2nd
Bde/1st Divn/II Corps at Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg (w),
commanded 1st Bde/3rd Divn/II Corps at Wilderness, Spotsylvania (w), relieved
of command May 1864 and mustered out in July 1864.
Post War: Clerk in superior and Supreme courts of New York
