War Service: September 1861 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers,
Jacksonville FL, commanded 3rd Divn/XIV Corps at Tullahoma, Chickamauga,
commanded artillery reserve at Chattanooga, appointed chief of artillery in Army
of the Cumberland, Atlanta campaign, administrative duty.
Post War: Army service in the artillery branch
