campaign, Malvern Hill, September 1862 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers,
chief of artillery in Army of the Potomac, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg,
commanded siege operations at Petersburg.
Post War: After the Civil War, Hunt served at multiple military installations including Fort Wayne, Indiana and Fort Totten, North Dakota
