Gen. of Volunteers, commanded forts below New Orleans, commanded Dist of Florida, commanded 1st Bde/2nd Divn/XIX Corps at Port Hudson (w,c), exchanged for Rooney Lee March 1864, resigned because of poor health November 1864.
