War Service: 1861 1st Lt in 4th US Artillery, Ft Pickens, Pensacola, Capt., Lt. Col., siege of Charleston, chief of artillery in X Corps, commanded 2nd Divn/XXV Corps at Petersburg, May 1865 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers.

Post War: Army service in the artillery.
