Seven Pines (w), Malvern Hill, Second Bull Run, Antietam, November 1862
appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers, commanded 3rd Bde/1st Divn/VI Corps at
Fredericksburg, directed 1st Bde/3rd Divn/I Corps at Chancellorsville, Gettysburg,
draft duties in Portland, court-martialed at Culpepper VA, restored to duty in
command of District of Monongahela, resigned December 1864.
