War Service: 1861 Lt. Col. in regular army, May 1861 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers, Port Royal expedition, commanded a division in the advance on Corinth, commanded a division at Port Hudson (w), commanded districts around New Orleans

Post War: Army service, retired 1870.
