Seven Days, Second Bull Run, Maj., Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, February
1864 Col. of 21st New York Cavalry (the Griswold Light Cavalry), served in
West Virginia, New Market, commanded 1st Bde/1st Cavalry Divn at Piedmont,
October 1865 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers.
Post War: General Tibbits returned to Troy in 1866, where for several years afterwards he suffered greatly, resulting from injuries received while in the service.
